TRIS 4 nationwide in use
All 25 regional units including the National force of the Dutch police started using the new version of TRIS. This month the last unit is converted to TRIS 4.
Before the conversion every unit used to have its own database. With the introduction of the National Police the police decided to make TRIS a nationwide application with just one single national database. A major advantage of this approach is that the exchange of data on offenses between police units is no longer a problem. All forensic experts from different units have access to the same information and database.
